About

The Reno High Sierra Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc., was founded by 15 women pilots in 1989. The chapter belongs to the Southwest Section of the 99s, which includes Chapters from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Today, the chapter members include private pilots, certified flight instructors, commercially rated pilots and women simply flying for the sheer joy and pleasure of it all. Many members have also earned balloon, glider and seaplane ratings.

We are involved in various community events and endeavors locally and fund annual aviation scholarships for women with our fundraiser efforts. Community service and activities include:

  • Reno National Championship Air Races Booth Sales Work Fundraiser

  • Airport Airmarking

  • Since our charter in 1989, our chapter has raised over $120,000 for Aviation Scholarship Awards for Women & the building of an endowment fund for future scholarships

cHAIR

Stacie Goodwin

Stacie most recently served as the RHS Vice Chair, and prior to that she was our Treasurer. Stacie earned her PPL in May 1995. Despite her love of aviation, life interfered with her flying and has had a successful career in accounting for 25 years while raising her family. She returned to aviation in 2022 and earned her instrument, commercial, and CFI licenses. Stacie is is an advanced ground instructor and working as a CFI! Stacie loves connecting with other pilots (and 99s) and credits the the Reno High Sierra 99s as being, “an inspiring group!”

Vice Chair

Danielle Dow

Danielle Dow’s aviation journey began as a passenger riding along with her boyfriend, who is an agricultural pilot and a CFI. Inspired by the flying, meetups, and the vibrant aviation community, she decided she wanted to learn to fly and become a pilot herself. Danielle is a student pilot working toward her PPL.  Danielle's flying goals don’t stop there; she’s especially excited about earning a tailwheel endorsement and learning aerobatics!

Danielle joined the Ninety-Nines in March 2025 after winning the Discover Aviation Scholarship in late 2024. Since then, she’s enjoyed the social activities and being part of an organization committed to advancing women in aviation.

Professionally, Danielle was a data visualization engineer, and is currently exploring opportunities in data analytics.

When she’s not focused on flying or data, you can find Danielle skydiving!  She started skydiving last summer, and has over 125 jumps!  Why stay in an airplane when you can actually fly??

Danielle is excited to serve as Vice Chair and looks forward to connecting with fellow members, sharing stories, and supporting other women pursuing aviation!

SECRETARY

Andrea Perry

After graduating with her B.S. in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University, Andrea took her first discovery flight in Bozeman. Upon moving back to Nevada, she made the decision to pursue aviation earnestly. She earned her private pilot's license on March 1st, 2025 and just earned her instrument rating!

When Andrea is not flying, you can find her hiking or crocheting to wind down.

Treasurer

Grace Jesensky

Grace Jesensky earned her BS in Physics from Seattle University and is now a Sr. Systems Engineer for Naval Air Station Fallon who has been working in Northern Nevada for the past 6 years. She began flying in the St Louis, MO area in 2017, following her grandmother and mother’s contrails as a third-generation woman pilot! She bought and sold her first airplane, an AA-1 Grumman Yankee, and has been exploring the local desert landscape building hours slowly while carrying on with career and other hobbies. Tailwheel and warbird aircraft are her current interest and motivation!

Past Chair

Rhonda started flying June 5,1979 in Burbank,Ca. She learned how to fly in a Piper Cherokee and earned her private pilot certificate on January 23,1980. She also earned her instrument and glider ratings. Rhonda has always flown for fun. Life got in the way and Rhoda took a break from flying for a while. 3 years ago Rhonda went to Oskhosh, which gave her the flying buy again. She rejoined the 99’s in October after a 25 year break….

When Rhonda’s not gliding or flying with friends, she’s painting beautiful pieces of aviation (and other) artwork, chauffeuring Rembrandt her semi famous dog, or out on the ski slopes.
