From RHS former Chairman Leah,
I haven’t flown since June but I’ve been able to do engine runs in the company’s Meridian every month while it awaits repairs. I’ll take what I can get 😂

From our Social Director -
(White) capping off the summer with some cooler temps
RHS members Stacie and Melissa took to the skies this morning to get some air time!!
While we were somewhat conflicted on who to root for (our home team or the Aviators) we nonetheless had a fantastic time at the Reno Ball Park! (The Aviators won) Thanks to RHS Social Director Tara for setting this up, and to everyone who attended!
Check out the group that met up for a photo! Can you name them all??
If you’re Facebook friends with her, you know Rosella’s page is full of posts featuring the beautiful brides she works with. When she’s not making brides glamourous for their big day, or working her day job as a flight attendant, she’s doing a little flying of her own.
From Rosella: Don’t let all my hair and makeup posts fool you — yo girl’s still piloting!
Many of our members are traveling to the Mecca Event of Aviation, Oshkosh!
If you’re there, be on the looking for other RHS99s, and send your photos and posts to your friendly webmistresses!
From our Vice Chair, Stacie: Leaving on a jet plane… don’t know when I’ll be back again! #Oshkosh2024!
Check out this super cool article discussing bird strikes and how a few ladies in Washington, DC are minimizing bird strikes by identifying birds who collide with airplanes.
Did you know bird strikes cost upwards of $650,000,000 a year??? Yeah, me neither!
Tina recently flew down to Minden for coffee. Can you think of a better way to get caffeine? No? Me neither.
What better way to spend a weekend morning than by flying to breakfast? A group of folks flew up to have breakfast at Patti’s Morning Thunder Cafe in Quincy. Heather, Dani, and Dani’s husband were among them! Two thumbs up for breakfast in Quincy!
Tara recently went flying, can you identify her location from the photos?
Congratulations to our new Secretary, Chelsea, who passed her Private Pilot Check Ride today!!
Each year RHS has a summer BBQ. Nominally it’s when we celebrate our Chapter’s Birthday, but really it’s when we have the shortest business meeting to announce and welcome our new board. The past few years Heather has hosted our little gathering in her hanger. This year Elizabeth hosted us at her home near Lake Tahoe. As you can see, this Chapter has “gone to the dogs”.
Angela transitioned from student pilot, to PILOT!!! Congrats to Angela and welcome to the skies!!!
Per Tina:
I Completed my long cross country today - RNO > LOL > O43 > SPZ > RNO.
This weekend in Gardnerville, Nevada, there was a fundraising event called Hot Air for Hope. www.hotairforhope.com Pictured above is scholarship recipient Moriah on the burner!
RHS 99s ran into one another at the Reno Airport!
While the Reno High Sierra Chapter offers a number of scholarships every year, our parent organization also offers scholarships. One of them is the First Wings Scholarship, a milestone based scholarship that awards money to recipients based on completing their FAA Written, First Solo, Long Cross Country Solo, and finally, earning their Pilot Certificate. This scholarship is only available to 99 Student Pilots and requires a very through and involved application along with an endorsement from our Chapter. Special thanks to RHS member Moe, who is our point of contact for and who works with applicants to submit their applications.
